The Opera in the Ozarks Orchestra consists of professional and advanced student musicians from across the country. The instrumentalists enter fully into the artistic and social life at The Point. After the intense preparation period and the three mainstage operas have opened, opportunities for chamber music, chamber orchestra, practice and relaxation abound.
Rehearsals begin Sunday, June 8 and the final performance is Friday, July 18. Orchestral musicians receive room and board for the entire session and a modest stipend: section musicians and principals $1000, concertmaster $1200.
The orchestra consists of 8 violins, 3 violas, 2 celli, 1 bass. 2 flutes, 1 oboe, 2 clarinets, 1 bassoon, 2 horns, 2 trumpets, 1 trombone and 1 percussion.
