2008 Season - Junior & Senior High Camps

Inspiration Point Fine Arts Colony
Junior and Senior High
Music Camps

Piano/String July 20-27 / Vocal July 27-August 3

These unique, outstanding camps are provided for dedicated music students who want expanded opportunities not found in other summer camps. The ratio of students to faculty and individual instruction is a major factor in expanding the skills and knowledge of each student. A daily schedule will consist of a wake-up call, breakfast, morning classes and practice periods, lunch, afternoon classes and practice periods, recreation and free time, followed by dinner, special lectures, rehearsals and recitals, curfew and lights out. Gala concerts at weeks end with student and faculty soloist and a performance of “Guys and Dolls” by the choral camp. Most evenings have recitals and special programs. Cost is $250, which includes room and board and tuition.

Requirements:
Piano - have two works fully prepared for study and performance.  They should be from contrasting style periods.  Also, bring a third work which is in progress.

Strings - send a Cassette or CD of your best solo recordings (no more than 8 minutes) without piano accompaniment.  This determines chamber music assignment and first seating in the orchestra.  Be prepared to play a solo work on the recital.

Vocal - send a Cassette or CD (two selections-one art song in English or foreign language and one musical theatre selection) be prepared to perform an art song in the master class and recital.
